Based in Drôme Provençale, Sonia Deleani creates functional pieces that explore the sensitive relationship between gesture, form and material. With a background in design, she shapes each piece by hand pinching, stamping, slab work and coils then reveals the grain of the grogged clay through patient polishing.
Her high-temperature stoneware, slip-coated and enameled according to her own recipes made with natural ashes and oxides, bears the trace of time, the seasons and the hand.
