The fifth issue of the annual Tools magazine explores the act of pottery throwing and showcases the skills associated with this technique. Through a selection of projects, objects and interviews, this issue immerses the reader in the manufacturing processes that shape design, craftsmanship and the industry. Each edition of the magazine focuses on a specific technique, offering a sensitive and well-documented look at contemporary creation and the transmission of handcraft.
Founded by Clémentine Berry, who also heads the Paris-based art direction studio Twice, Tools is an annual publication dedicated to exploring production techniques in art, design and architecture. The magazine is published by Les presses du réel, an independent publishing house and distribution platform that brings together publishers, labels and magazines around high-calibre catalogues and editorial collaborations.
