Inspired by "consciences" - antique Provençal jugs used to transport olive oil - we have been working with ceramist Simone Loo to design a collection of bud vases for hanging on the wall.
Marked with Sessùn characters, and fitted with cotton handles, only a very limited run of these handmade items has been produced.
Lou Thomas is a ceramics artist based in Marseille. Now back from a residency in Oaxaca, Mexico, she created the Mexican range, which includes her plates and round vases with little handles in chamotte stoneware. Inspired by local craftsmanship, these pieces are imbued with the secrets and skills taught to her by the "Maestra", the craftswomen of Mexico. Her work celebrates imperfection.
Material: chamotte clay
Workshop: Marseille, France
