Ensure your hands are clean when handling the vase and avoid contact with sharp objects, as untreated clay is very delicate.
Vase terracottaAjouter à votre liste d'envies
Large vase with handles made of low-fire clay and by coil construction. The clay is deliberately left unglazed on the outside to keep its natural colour, while the inside of the piece is glazed. On the outside, the surface of the piece may be rough due to sculpting by hand: these irregularities are deliberately left by the artist, and are part of their aesthetic preference.
Artist : In her workshop in Poblenou, Spain, Marta Bonilla promotes the imperfection and sensuality of the clay material through creations which accurately blend the timeless, the primitive and the contemporary. She moulds the ceramic classics - vases, lamps and jugs - in soft and elegant lines, inspired by the organic shapes of the 40s and 50s such as those by Valentine Schlegel, whom she particularly likes.
Measurements : 33 x 20 cm
Technique : Coil construction
Production location : Poblenou, Spain
