The book that heralds a happy summer!  Holidays in Italy! It is a powerful, joyful, eternal desire reinforced by films, songs and novels. It is also a colour where both the sky and the sea melt into a sun that reignites ourhappy memories of travels, encounters, lazy days or seaside romances. Now is the time for the new book from Claude Nori that we have been waiting for since "Un été italien", his book that has been out-of-print for almost 20 years. You will find his well-known images as well as new photographs in colour accompanied by a story in which he recalls the particularly optimistic atmosphere of the 1970s and 1980s but also his approach and his use of photobiography, of which he was one of the precursors. Claude Nori established his reputation with his photographs of the seaside, the sensuality of beautiful Italian women, his art of framing to capture teenage lovers and dynamism of youth, the thirst for happiness in which a hint of melancholy and creative nostalgia is hidden. "From 1982, I decided to photograph Italian beaches, those where I had enjoyed happy times with my parents, but also those that were unknown to me, mythical destinations and towns with names like Capri, Naples, Portofino, San Remo or Stromboli, about which songs had been written or that had been used as backdrops for movies. I had realised that the special landscape of the seaside, the activity that took place on the beach in the summer was really a condensation of Italian culture, a ritual through which it expressed its way of life most powerfully." Claude Nori.

Claude Nori, a photographer, writer and publisher of Italian origin, has since 1975 produced several autobiographical books on the main themes of Italy, love, nostalgia for adolescence and a fascination with neorealist films. His major exhibition at the Maison Européenne de la Photographie in 2012 highlighted the importance of his work as an author through thephotography book, which he sees as a unique place for creation conducive to an original language between reality and fiction.
